Hiring eCommerce talent as a recruiter
The eCommerce space has changed over the past years and due to the recent pandemic, the mindset of the ideal candidates has shifted. Remote/Hybrid working is what active and passive candidates are expecting in a new role and these roles will attract them even more to the opportunity at a new company.
How to hire eCommerce talent as a recruiter
Create a transparent process by making sure you have all the information on the role, company and what is expected of the ideal candidate. This way if the candidate is fully aware of all aspects of the role, they’ll feel more relaxed when it comes to interviewing and asking further questions.
All candidates will want a role that offers progression within the company or at least a step up from their current position. You must let them know why the role is a good fit for them in terms of their experience and progression, this is reassurance that will help the recruitment process. As a recruiter, you will need to have a clear understanding of what the candidate is looking for or expecting and refer this back to your client as this will help the process if at any point there are concerns.
In the recruitment space as well as eCommerce you need to stay aware and updated with what attracts candidates to your clients. For example, remote/hybrid working, this is something candidates will most likely be looking for so don’t overlook it if your client is offering this. If the candidate is expected onsite at any point in the near future, you have to make them aware of this before they start interviewing as this can make a difference to the process.
Lastly, as candidates that are actively looking have most likely applied to more than one role, you must stay connected, and build repour so they can trust that you have their best interest as a priority. Pitch your client in the best light so it sticks in the candidate’s mind so they wouldn’t want to miss out on the opportunity.
