Sr. Software Engineer (C++ Embedded) – Autonomous Construction + Mining Vehicle Startup – Up to $180k base (+ equity)
Responsibilities:

Design, implement, and maintain high-performance C++ embedded software modules for various aspects of our self-driving car system, including sensor drivers, data pre-processing, algorithm deployment, etc.

Optimize code for efficiency, reliability, and scalability to meet performance requirements in real-time and resource-constrained environments.

Conduct code reviews, identify areas for improvement, and enforce coding standards and best practices within the software team.

Debug and troubleshoot software issues, analyze performance bottlenecks, and implement solutions to ensure the stability and robustness of our software stack.

Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in software engineering, and apply relevant advancements to our development process.

Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations for automotive embedded software development, such as ISO 26262.

Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including, software, hardware, integration, and QA, to define software requirements, and implement feature enhancements.
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field

2+ years of professional experience in software development

Proficiency in C++ (C++11, 14, or 17) programming languages, with experience in embedded Linux environments

Strong understanding of embedded hardware architectures, including microcontrollers, sensors, and actuators.

Knowledge of software development best practices, including version control systems (e.g., Git), unit testing, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines

Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
