Description
We are searching for a highly motivated Senior Firmware Engineer. The ideal candidate will be able to work across multiple functions and collaborate with other divisions. This person needs to balance work on multiple projects and manage deadlines. They must have expertise in firmware coding for microcontrollers.
General Responsibilities
- Development of Firmware with C/C++, facilitate builds with source code control tools
- Bring up reference boards or prototype hardware and troubleshoot early integration issues
- Perform bench-level testing with basic electrical lab bench equipment
- Plan and estimate development activities on an individual level and coordinate efforts with other teams
- Carry out responsibilities for multiple software development projects
- Work with outside agencies to comply with industry standards
- Interface with customers and other design engineers required throughout the product development cycle and follow on product support
- Maintain code in the repository and participate in peer code reviews
- Ongoing investigation of the latest component technology to meet the goals of continuous quality and cost improvements
- Develop test programs, testing, technical documentation, and correspondence with internal and external sources
- Report on project status in team meetings
- Cross-collaborate with engineering teams, test teams, customer support teams, and factory
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline
- 2-5 years of work experience developing embedded firmware
- Wireless experience with Bluetooth, WiFi, Zigbee, proprietary RF
- Strong knowledge of bus protocols such as I2C, SPI, UART and SDIO
- A working knowledge of embedded hardware (digital, analog, RF) and previous experience of bare metal applications
- Experience with SoCs, integrating hardware and software applications
- Familiarity with Git/GitHub, software configuration management and tracking tools
