My thoughts on Remote V Onsite in the recruitment world

**** Firstly what applies to the recruitment world, doesn’t mirror my views on the tech space. I will explain more in a future post!

With the ever increasing need for good recruiters and new tools that allow remote working such as Slack, companies are consistently having the debate on whether it’s beneficial to hire remote v on-site. As a small recruitment business owner myself, I have already trialed both and there are many pros/cons.

We have found that it really depends on level of experience and size of company as well.

In a small office, atmosphere is so important. We are in a job that requires proactivity and it is crucial to consistently create that environment which motivates you to reach out to that additional candidate or client. We have also found that remote doesn’t work for junior hires. In the first part of your career, you need to sponge and learn as much information as possible from peers around you. Recruitment is a job where mistakes need to be corrected on the spot, otherwise a minor mistake on the candidate qualification can lead to the closing/offer process going terribly wrong.
